"It's more interesting to have just a picture of a small detail - then you can dream all the rest around it.
Because when you see the whole thing, what is there to imagine?" -Dries Van Noten

Price Latimer Agah

Private Art Dealer and Consultant. Los Angeles

Price Latimer Agah, a 5th generation Texan who now lives in Los Angeles, is a private art dealer and consultant who specializes in emerging, contemporary, and post-war art for private residences, collections and public spaces. But if her art knowledge is any indication of her style choices (her education is widespread, varied, and most definitely post-modern), her techno-color wardrobe gave new energy to the hills of L.A…and The Coveteur’s lens. Regardless of her precious Chanel handbags, vintage Christian Dior and Rick Owens, P.L.A. isn’t afraid to mix it up and shake things around with her pink high-top Chuck Taylors. We role-played with her Lanvin dress and Christian Louboutin bag (“This shot is definitely indicative of my love for a little nighttime sparkle and shimmer!”) and fawned over her disco inspired Edith Palm jumpsuit (we don’t know many girls who could pull off that look – and look this amazing doing it). Her collection of Visionaires sit alongside Carter Mull’s and Dan Colen’s, and one of our dreams is still to take a road trip to L.A’s Wasteland for an impromptu vintage spree – with P.L.A. steering the wheel. But with her feminine approach and worldly-recognized art personality (Price currently serves on The Board of Trustees for the Santa Monica Museum of Art and is involved with other projects for groups like MOCA’s Curators Circle, LACMA’s President’s Circle Avant-Garde, the Hammer Museum Fellows, ArtTable and Art Center Los Angeles), P.L.A. has a little bit of an edge – especially when it comes ot her belt buckles of choice....and the possible repercussions. “As for the Guns N' Roses belt buckle…that has quite a story. I bought it eleven years ago at a flea market in Dolores Hidalgo, Mexico while I was studying nearby in San Miguel de Allende. I have probably worn this buckle a thousand times. Once, I tried to wear it on a plane trip from LAX to JFK shortly after 9/11 and was stopped by TSA security, refused entrance and forced to miss my flight, because the belt buckle had ‘imagery or representations of weapons’. I think Axl would be proud!”. We think so too…And while she’s a globe-trotter (five continents thus far) – she’s happiest at home with her pro-skating husband Salman Agah and their own little family – two dogs and one chipper bird.

This vintage Thierry Mugler dress is smokin’… so 80’s Blade Runner future noir. You can’t quite tell from the photo but the upper bodice and sleeves are all silk mesh. This also belonged to my Grandmother, of course. One of my favorite rappers, the late Notorious B.I.G., was known for his love of Versace sunglasses, so these are an homage to him. The fish was a souvenir purchase on our honeymoon to Jamaica. We stayed at two incredible properties owned by Chris Blackwell (founder of Island Records) and this crazy wooden fish is a reminder of our spectacular trip!Dress, Vintage Thierry Mugler; Sunglasses, Versace

The boots were custom-made and monogrammed in Spain for my Grandmother in the 70’s or 80’s, and the embroidered coat was my Mother’s; she bought it at the bazaar in Istanbul in 1971. My grandmother had the exact same size foot as I do, so I happily inherited much of her fantastic footwear. I get compliments on these boots every time I wear them! The jacket is so 70’s Anita Pallenberg (go, Mom!), but I only get to wear it when it’s extra cold in LA, or when I travel to a chillier locale. The saloon doors were built by our friend and brilliant craftsman, Louis Gabriel AKA Perizo Labs, to separate our bitchy female dogs who used to fight all the time (alas, they are now super snuggly friends…).All, Vintage from Grandmother and Mother

I wore it with a bondage belt to the MOCA 30th Anniversary Gala, where Francesco Vezzoli premiered Ballets Russes Italian Style (The Shortest Musical You Will Never See Again) starring Lady Gaga and dancers from the Bolshoi Ballet.

LOVE this photo! The shirt and jacket are Edith Palm, from her Fall/Winter 2011 collection, which combines the bold colors of Egon Schiele’s palette in conjunction with the cold chromatism of Eastern European winters and the dark sensibility of traditional Hasidic garments. Can you say AMAZING?! The blanket is a Native American saddle blanket from Pendleton, who donates a portion of the proceeds from these blankets to the American Indian College Fund. The Diné arrows were purchased on an epicly beautiful Southwestern road trip that I took with Sarah Aaronson (designer of Edith Palm) through the Hopi and Navajo nations, The Painted Desert and Petrified Forest National Park two summers ago.Shirt and Jacket, Edith Palm; Shoes, Pierre Hardy; Bracelet, Stella McCartney; Blanket, Pendleton#inline_04

This Edith Palm black silk jersey dropped-crotch jumpsuit is a travel essential. I wear it all the time; it feels like the most luxurious pajamas and can be dressed up with heels & jewels, or dressed down with sneakers. Speaking of which, I am a bona fide Converse collector. I am endlessly inspired by The Ramones fashion sense (and I have super flat feet), so these are my comfy shoes of choice. As for the Guns N' Roses belt buckle… that has quite a story. I bought it 11 years ago at a flea market in Dolores Hidalgo, Mexico while I was studying nearby in San Miguel de Allende. I have probably worn this buckle a thousand times. Once, I tried to wear it on a plane trip from LAX to JFK shortly after 9/11 and was stopped by TSA security, refused entrance and forced to miss my flight, because the belt buckle had “imagery or representations of weapons”. The artwork is by Carter Mull, entitled 'Political Thinking'. These super fun hand-knitted dresses are by my fabulous and talented friend, Anna McCraney. You might remember her as the winner of season 1 of Bravo’s 'The Fashion Show' with Isaac Mizrahi. Anna and I met each other the first week of college, outside of our dorm at RISD. I saw this gorgeous, pale, 6’ 4” (in platforms) raver chick from Atlanta and was immediately captivated. Needless to say, we were instant friends. These dresses are from the late 90’s / early 2000’s. She just opened a charming namesake boutique called Annabelle on Stanton Street in New York City. Go check her out!Dresses, Annabelle by Anna McCraney

To Your Scattered Bodies Go #2 is a striking 5 x 7 foot artwork by the young LA-based collaborative duo, Simmons & Burke, who happen to be two of my favorite young artists in LA. These guys are 28 years old, making phenomenal, sophisticated work far beyond the scope of most people their age. Their artworks are visual and audio amalgamations of millions of images and sounds sourced from the Internet, appropriated into delirious, awe-inspiring narratives filled with countless layers of resplendent imagery. The audio component contains custom audio software that plays a soundtrack in which you will never hear the same combination of noises twice. This tank is a purchase from my first trip to Finland (with my good friend Miia and my brother), and the first time I discovered H&M! This was before they had opened any stores in the USA, so as you can imagine I was like a wild-eyed kid in a candy store. This was also before the Finnish Markka was replaced by the Euro, so everything was dirt cheap. I love all of these pieces hanging from the 1920’s factory window in the living room of our loft, blowing in the breeze above the herb garden! Like many, I’m obsessed with anything Rick Owens, so I fell in love with this acid-yellow layered silk miniskirt. You can wear it backward, forward, tied up with the sash, high on your waist, low on your hips and everything in between. The silk shirt is by my favorite LA designer (and best friend), Edith Palm by Sarah Aaronson. It is made from dead-stock vintage spider web fabric and has real seahorses as the closures for the French cuffs… a total work of art! The sunglasses were a gift from one of my BFF’s—Harlem-based fashion writer Cator Sparks—because Peggy Guggenheim is my all-time most-inspiring heroine. The sunglasses were originally designed for her by artist Edward Melcarth.Shirt, Edith Palm; Skirt, Rick Owens; Sunglasses, Peggy Guggenheim x Safilo#inline_13

This shot is definitely indicative of my love for a little nighttime sparkle and shimmer! I’m really into all shades of grey, silver and pewter. The Louboutin boots were actually my wedding shoes. I spent months looking, and was not at all interested in buying ivory-colored pumps that I’d never wear again, so I unregretfully opted for these! I bought the Grecian metallic Lanvin dress at The Barneys Warehouse Sale a few years ago, and it has become a party staple. I’m thrilled when things are too over the top, ill-fitting or outrageous for other people because then I end up with incredible clothes for way less. The McQueen clutch with removable Michael Jackson-esque glove was a gift from my awesome parents.Dress, Lanvin; Shoes, Christian Louboutin; Bag, Alexander McQueen
